Student-led Conferences

We are looking forward to the first round of Student-led Conferences at GIS. Students watched a model conference in today’s assembly, in which Eir bravely presented her work to Ms. W, who assumed the role of Eir’s mother. Subsequently, all students practised in pairs, taking turns.

We hope you find your conference(s) informative and enjoyable. Please remember to take your child’s portfolio home. Attached to this newsletter is the timetable. Please note it does not reflect any changes that may have been arranged among parents. We would be grateful if you could adhere to the timetable. Also attached is the list of sample questions you may want to ask your child during the conference. To see more photos from this morning, visit us on Facebook.

Like other schools, GIS will take part in the parade in the morning. Then, we’ll come to the school to continue celebrating. We meet at GIS at 12:30.

As this is our first celebration, all participating families will need to contribute. At this point, please indicate how many people your family is planning to bring through this survey by the end of Thursday this week. Detailed information will follow soon.

Theatre Clubtheatreclub

Thank you for letting us know about your child’s interest in the new Theatre Club. Unfortunately, the leaders are experiencing some delay in the processing of their criminal check, which is mandatory for anyone that should work with children. Therefore, we need to delay the start of the club by one week and the new start date is 3rd May. As a result, we can extend the signup period until Friday.

Tomorrow’s Project

Students will watch a Disney nature documentary ‘Earth’ this Wednesday. As Gjøvik Cinema was unable to obtain a copy of the film, students will watch it at school. The documentary contributes to the teaching and learning in the current unit of inquiry.
